Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have. It is aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
In this policy, “we”, “us” or “SSJ” means Shree Shyam Jewellers, and “you” means any visitor or customer who uses our website or services. By using this website and submitting any enquiry, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1.Information we collect
Information you give us — your name, mobile number, email, city, the contents of your enquiry, custom-design preferences (metal, stones, occasion, budget), any reference images you upload, and appointment details.
Information collected automatically — device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, the pages you view and actions you take, collected via cookies and analytics (see Section 5).
What we do NOT collect — we do not take online payments, and we never collect or store card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, bank passwords or OTPs on this website. Beware of anyone asking for these in our name.
2.How we use your information
We use your data only for clearly defined purposes: to respond to your enquiries; prepare quotations; design and fulfil custom or made-to-order pieces; schedule appointments; provide after-sales care; operate, secure and improve our website; and comply with legal obligations. With your separate consent, we may send you occasional updates about new collections and offers.
3.Legal basis & consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent and for the legitimate purposes permitted under the DPDP Act, including responding to a request you have voluntarily initiated. You may withdraw your consent at any time (Section 8); doing so will not affect processing already carried out.
4.Cookies & analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work. With your consent (managed through our cookie banner), we also use analytics cookies — including Google Analytics — to understand traffic and improve the experience. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies at any time, and manage or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our own visit counter is anonymous and does not identify you personally.
5.How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, website hosting, email delivery, and — where you place an order — secure logistics partners), and only to the extent needed. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
6.Data retention
We keep your data only for as long as necessary to serve your enquiry or order, to maintain our business records, and to meet legal or tax obligations. When it is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.
7.Data security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted administrative access, hashed credentials and other reasonable security practices as required under Section 8 of the DPDP Act. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8.Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction or completion, to request erasure, to withdraw consent, and to grievance redressal. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer below; we will respond within the timelines prescribed by law.
9.Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18 without the consent of a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us for its removal.
10.Third-party links
Our website and WhatsApp/social links may direct you to third-party platforms (such as WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook), which have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of those platforms.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date below reflects the latest version, and continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
